ON BOSNIC— Could be the surprise recruit from Maryland's exceptional Class of '97. ..he was originally recruited because of his dead-eye accuracy from three-point, but as the coaches continued to watch him play they were intrigued by his athletic ability... he won the slam dunk contest during the 1993 Dapper Dan Festival... what he might lack in quickness he more than makes up for in hustle, determination and court savvy...
High School— Attended Laurel Highlands High School... he was a four-year starter, and the team's leading scorer his last three seasons...as a senior, he averaged 29 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four blocks a game. ..he led Laurel Highlands to a 23-0 regular season record in 1992-93... he was named by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to its Fab Five team, recognizing the top five prep players in Western Pennsylvania... he was a second team all-state pick... in his four years of varsity competition, he totaled 1,936 career points— the Laurel Highlands school record.. .he averaged 30 points a game as a junior, 23 as a sophomore and 11 as a freshman...he earned all-county honors all four seasons.
his high school coach was Mark John.
Personal— Born June 5, 1974. his full name is Nicholas Earl Bosnic.
