Steve was one of the first players Coach Driesell recruited for Maryland. He is the backup man for Mickey Wiles on the point. The two years experience he picked up at Gardner Webb Junior College will help. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he now makes his home in Queens, New York. Steve is married and an accounting major. He was married just prior to enrolling at Maryland (Aug. 31). He played his high school basketball for Marvin Kessler at Martin Van Buren High in New York. While at Gardner Webb he led his team to conference and regional championships and was accorded All-Tournament honors in the regional championships.
