As a grad student (2022): Third on team with 54 points (33G, 21A)...Had more goals in posteason (18) than he did in regular season (15)...Scored 100th career goal in title game vs Cornell (5/22)...Opened the season with two assists against High Point (2/5) ...Two goals in Terps' win over Loyola (2/12)...Two goals and one assist totaling three points to help defeat Syracuse (2/20)...One point with one assist including a ground ball against Princeton (2/26)...One goal and one assist totaling two points in win against Notre Dame (2/5)... Two goals and one assist totaling three points in win over Albany (3/12)... Season-high six points, scoring two goals and assisting on four in victory over #2 Virginia...One goal to help defeat Penn State (3/27)...One goal and had one ground ball in Terps' win over Michigan (4/2)...One goal against #4 Rutgers (4/10)... As a senior (2021): Started in all 16 games on the team’s first midfield line…24 goals ranked fourth on the team…43 points was fifth on the team…11 multi-point games…seven multi-goal games…picked up 12 GBs…had five goals and six assists in NCAA Tournament…posted a season-high seven points and five goals at Michigan (4/10)…scored  OT game winner in Quarterfinal at Notre Dame (5/22).

As a junior (2020): Started in all six games…finished third on the team in points (21)…11 assists ranked second on the team…also had 10 goals…scored two goals and tallied three assists in season-opener vs. High Point (2/1)…Had two goals, including the game-winner in double overtime,  in addition to three assists in win at Richmond (2/8)…posted a hat trick and an assist vs. Penn (2/15)…had a goal and trio of assists at Villanova (2/18)…scored a goal vs. Notre Dame (2/29)…posted a goal and an assist vs. Albany (3/7)…Academic All-Big Ten.

As a sophomore (2019): Academic All-Big Ten...Had breakout sophomore season, recording 46 points on 28 goals and 18 assists...started in all 17 games on the first midfield line...28 goals ranked fourth and 18 assists ranked third on the team...tabbed seven multi-goal games and three hat tricks...tied season-high with three assists at #17 Notre Dame (3/3)...tied season-high with four goals, including three in the first quarter vs. North Carolina (3/23)...posted season-high six points on three goals and three assists at Rutgers (4/14)...scored six goals in the NCAA Tournament, including four goals in NCAA Quarterfinal vs. third-seeded Virginia (5/18).   

As a redshirt freshman (2018): Appeared in all 18 games, making three starts ... posted 13 points on seven goals and six assists ... six of his 13 points on the season came in the NCAA Tournament (3 gms) ... started at attack in collegiate debut against Navy (2/10) ... scored first career goal vs. #17 Penn (2/21) ... had an assist vs. #1 Albany (3/10) ... had a goal and an assist in California homecoming vs. #19 UNC (3/24) - the first multi-point game of career ... had an assist at #17 Michigan (3/31) ... scored a massive fourth quarter goal vs. #7 Rutgers (4/15) ... scored a goal vs. Ohio State (4/22) ... posted a career-high three assists - all in the third quarter - in NCAA First Round vs. Robert Morris (5/13) ... scored a career-high two goals in NCAA Quarters vs. Cornell (5/20) ... scored a goal in NCAA Semis vs. Duke (5/26).

As a freshman (2017): Served a redshirt season for 2017 National Champions.

Before Maryland: A 2x US Lacrosse All-American (2016, 2015) … starred at Coronado, where he became the all-time leading scorer in California high school lacrosse history with 391 points … totaled 232 goals, which ranks third in California history, and 159 assists, which ranks second in California history, during career … had 70 goals and 58 assists as a senior … tallied 10+ points in five games as a senior.

Personal: Full name is Anthony Thomas DeMaio … son of Tom and Nicole DeMaio … father played hockey at Springfield College.

Reason for coming to Maryland: To compete for a National Championship.
