Biography
As a Freshman (2011-12): A top five performer for the Terps in the 500 free (4:57.09), 1000 free (10:21.65), 1650 free (17:05.69) and 400 IM (4:32.04)....captured 24th in the 500 free (4:59.78) at her first ACC Championships... finished 17th in the 1650 free (16:59.71) and 24th in the 500 free (4:59.78)...took 10th in the 500 free (4:58.96), 14th in the 400 IM (4:32.04) and 10th in the 1650 free (17:05.93) at the Terrapin Cup.
Before Maryland: Two-year captain of Nassau County Girls Swimming Team Champions for head coach Annie Sullivan at Garden City High School ... team was undefeated in dual meets throughout her career ... 2010 All-American in 500 free ... earned All-State honors in 200 and 500 free in 2010 ... holds the Garden City High School record in 200 free ... also a member of the Long Island Aquatic Club ... USA Swimming Short Course Senior National Qualifier ... USA Swimming Junior National Qualifier in both long and short course.
Personal: Daughter of Daniel and Patty Zarriello ... has two brothers Andrew (21) and Kyle (15) ... mother swam at Drexel University ... member of the Business and Marketing Honor Society of New York State ... named to the USA Swimming Academic All-American Team in 2010 ... volunteer at the Henry Viscardi School for Physically and Emotionally Challenged Children ... hopes to be a pediatrician some day ... enrolled in the College of Letters and Sciences.
