Paula Karamihas joined the University of Maryland staff in 2017 as the sports dietitian for the football, track and field, and cross country teams. She has worked with many teams during her time at Maryland, including softball, women’s basketball, women’s golf, and tennis, and currently serves as the sports dietitian for the men’s soccer, women’s soccer, baseball, and women’s lacrosse teams.
Paula serves as a nutrition resource for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. She provides individual nutrition counseling that focuses on fueling strategies, hydration, and proper supplementation, provides team nutrition education sessions, travel meal management, and body composition analysis, and serves as a member of the Eating Disorder Management Team.
Paula earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in 2012. She went on to complete a master’s degree in Exercise Science in 2015 and a second bachelor’s degree in Dietetics in 2016 at Florida State University, where she also worked in the sports nutrition department.
A native of Rockville, Maryland, Paula currently lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with her family.
