As a Sophomore (2005-06): Finished 2-2 on the year in open competition ... wins came by way of fall and major decision.

Before Maryland: Four-year letterwinner ... finished second in the state as a senior ... three-time District II champion ... compiled a 127-18 record on the mat ... also excelled at football, leading the team to the AA state championship ... also captured a district title in the javelin.

Personal: Carlo Anthony Mercadante ... son of Helen and Carmen ... one of 10 children ... majoring in kinesiology.
