Landon Milbourne scored a career-high 20 points and Maryland cruised to a 76-53 men's basketball win over George Washington Sunday night in the BB&T Classic played at Verizon Center.
Greivis Vasquez added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Maryland, which ended a four-game losing streak in the tournament. It was Vasquez's second straight double-double, as he had 23 points and a dozen rebounds Wednesday in the Terps' victory over Michigan.
Adrian Bowie had 17 points and Eric Hayes had 13 for Maryland, now 6-2 after winning two straight following back-to-back losses to ranked opponents.
Milbourne also finished with a career-high eight rebounds and tied a career-high with four blocked shots in a stellar all-around performance.
Maryland took control about four minutes into the game when Eric Hayes hit a 3-pointer on three-straight possessions in a span of 36 seconds to give the Terrapins a 13-4 lead. George Washington (3-2) had no answer as Maryland pushed the lead to 45-26 at halftime.
The Terps pushed the lead to as many as 29 points in the second half.
Maryland was 7-for-12 on 3-pointers in the first half, and finished 9-for-19. George Washington struggled from long range, making 4 of 15 3-pointers.
George Washington shot 30.8 (20 of 65) percent, its lowest mark and the lowest of any Maryland opponent this season. Maryland shot 42.9 (27 of 63) percent from the floor.
Tony Taylor and Rob Diggs each had 10 points for the Colonials.
