74 Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – In its inaugural season in the Big Ten, Maryland placed 74 student-athletes on the distinguished academic all-conference list, as announced by the Big Ten Thursday. The Terrapins had representation from each of their eight spring teams.
“It was an outstanding spring semester academically for our athletics department,” said director of athletics Kevin Anderson. “We had numerous student-athletes win prestigious honors and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments in our inaugural year in the Big Ten.”
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Terrapins are represented by baseball (5), softball (12), men's lacrosse (5), men's golf (2), men's outdoor track & field (4), women's track & field (22), women's lacrosse (13), women's tennis (6) and women's golf (2) on the academic all-conference list.
Sophomore midfielder Zoe Stukenberg of the national champion women's lacrosse team posted a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average, one of 13 student-athletes in the league on the academic all-conference list.
The Big Ten recognized 1,447 student-athletes who competed in spring sports from all 14 member institutions.
