VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Maryland men's golf team finished the Quail Valley Collegiate Invite tied for fifth out of 14 teams. The Terrapins were able to bounce back in the final two rounds of play to finish 20 strokes under par.

As a team, Maryland earned a combined score of 844 (287-280-277) and tied Lipscomb for fifth. The Terrapins beat out No. 25 UAB and Big Ten teams Michigan State and Rutgers. This is the Terps' second top-five finish of the year.

Senior
Peter Knade led the Terps for the second time this season. Knade posted impressive scores for each of the three rounds with a final score of 207 (68-68-70), which was 9 under par. This earned Knade a tie for 9
th place.

The rest of the Terrapins improved as the rounds progressed. Freshman
Austin Barbin and senior
Christian Park both finished 4 under par. Barbin shot a 212 (72-71-69) and Park shot a 72 in the first round, 67 in the third and 73 in the final round.

Chris Lane went -2 with his score of 214 (74-74-66) to tie for 43
rd. Â Freshman
Will Celiberti ended up 13 over par with a score of  229 (83-74-72).

The Maryland Terrapins will look to build off of their strong performance when they travel to Palm Harbor, Fla., to compete in The Intercollegiate at Innisbrook next week.
