
#2 Terrapins Set for Senior Day Matchup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Second-ranked Maryland (14-2, 6-1 B1G) will host Michigan State (6-9, 0-6) Friday in the Terps' annual Senior Day game. With a win, the Terps can clinch a share of their fifth Big Ten title in their six years in the league.
• Maryland will honor seniors Jen Bleakney, Lizzy Dessoye, Logan Edmondson, Kelee Lepage and Madison Maguire prior to Friday's game. In their careers, these special Terrapins have earned a record of 70-17, gone to two Final Fours and madr two NCAA Championship game appearances, won two Big Ten regular season titles and the 2018 Big Ten Tournament title. They've earned numerous conference, regional, national and academic honors.
• Admission is free for Friday's contest. Lot 11b, the lot directly next to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex, will open for fan parking at 4 p.m. Fans should please read and follow all posted parking signs in the surrounding lots.
• The Terps-Spartans matchup will be streamed around the world through BTN Plus. Fans can watch with their BTN Plus subscriptions, which start at $9.95 a month. Live stats will also be available.

RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
• Maryland fell at No. 9 Michigan, 1-0, Friday. The Terrapins bounced back with a comeback win at No. 21 Ohio State, 6-3, Sunday. The Terps trailed the Buckeyes 2-0 at halftime. Kelee Lepage scored to spark a six-goal second half for the Terrapins. Bibi Donraadt and Emma DeBerdine each scored twice and Madison Maguire scored as well.
• Emma DeBerdine was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Monday forthe first time in her career.
• Linda Cobano and Maguire lead the Terps with nine goals this season. Bibi Donraadt and Emma DeBerdine each have scored six goals this season. Bodil Keus has four. Thirteen total Terrapins have scored this year.
• The Terrapins return eight of 11 starters from last year, including the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in Keus and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in Bibi Donraadt. Keus also earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors.
• The Terps went 22-3 in 2018, advancing to their second straight NCAA Championship game. They won the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles as well.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
• Michigan State is 6-0 overall and 0-6 in Big Ten play. The Spartans fell to Penn State, 3-1, and No. 18 Rutgers, 3-2, last weekend.
• Lia Sinisi has scored six goals to lead Michigan State this year.
• Maryland owns the all-time series over Michigan State, 11-0.
• Last year, the Terps won 5-1 in East Lansing on Sept. 15, then won 6-0 in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals in College Park on Oct. 28..

• Maryland was tabbed as the No. 2 team in the country in the latest Penn Monto/Division I Coaches poll released Oct. 22.
• The Terrapins have been ranked in the top 10 for 189 of 221 weeks since 1999.

The Terrapins joined the Big Ten conference in 2014, after playing in the ACC for 31 years. Big Ten field hockey is the largest conference in the history of the sport in the NCAA with nine teams - Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland.• The Terps are 135-40-3 (.767) all-time against Big Ten opponents.
• Head coach Missy Meharg is 117-20-1 (.851) vs. Big Ten opponents in her 32 years at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program.
• Since joining the league in 2014, the Terps are 52-9 in conference play.
• The Terrapins are 47-3 (.940) vs. Big Ten teams at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• The Terrapins won the first Big Ten title for the University of Maryland with a 4-1 win over No. 14 Iowa on Nov. 1, 2014 in College Park.
HOME SWEET HOME
Since its opening in 2003, the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has provided the Maryland hockey program a huge home field advantage.• The Terps are 187-20 (.903) all-time at the Complex.
• Maryland won 38 straight games at the Complex from Oct.11, 2008 through Oct. 14, 2011. The streak ended with a 5-2 loss to then-No. 1 Old Dominion.
• The Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has played home to 28 of Maryland's NCAA Tournament games and has played host to three Final Fours (2007, 2010, 2014). The Terrapins are 25-3 in those games and won the 2010 national title on their home field.
PACK THE HOUSE
• The Maryland field hockey team has increasingly attracted more and more fans to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex season after season. The Terrapins have led the nation in attendance in five of the last eight years.
• An NCAA-record crowd of 2,381 came out to watch as Maryland beat North Carolina 3-2 in double overtime for the 2010 national championship at the Complex.
THREE TERPS EARN PRESEASON BIG TEN HONORS
• Graduate student Jen Bleakney, senior Madison Maguire and junior Bodil Keus earned Big Ten Preseason Honors to start the season. The full list, click HERE.
• Keus was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year last season and earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors. She scored nine goals with seven assists and three defensive saves in 2018.
• Maguire notched seven goals, including an overtime game winner over No. 5 Connecticut to send the Terps to their 19th Final Four. She picked up 12 assists on the year and earned NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region honors..
• Bleakney comes to the Terrapins from Syracuse, where she tallied 11 goals and six assists in three seasons.

• Bleakney and Keus were voted team co-captains by their peers.
OVERTIME IS TERPS TIME
During Missy Meharg's tenure, the Terrapins have become one of the nation's most dangerous teams in overtime.
• The Terps are 70-25 (.737) all-time in games that went to overtime or a shootout.
• In Meharg's tenure, the Terps are 59-21 (.738) in overtime or shootout games.
• Maryland is 16-3 in overtime and shootout games at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
STAFF UPDATES
• The Terrapins welcome two new assistant staff members and former Terrapins in 2019. Janessa Pope will serve as the team's director of operations and Sarah Holliday is a student assistant coach.
• Pope played for the Terrapins from 2009-2012 and won two NCAA Championships in her career. She graduated with her degree in hearing and speech sciences and works at a local elementary school as a speech language pathologist for preschoolers.
• Holliday played for the Terrapins from 2015-2018 and started in 74 career games. She notched 261 career saves. She is finishing her degree in psychology.
TERPS ON NATIONAL TEAMS
• Thirteen Terrapins, former and present, are currently on USA Field Hockey's national team rosters.
• Jill (Witmer) Funk competed with Team USA in the Rio Olympics along with former volunteer assistant coach Stefanie Fee. Former Terrapin Megan Frazer is on the Irish National Team.
• Recent grads Linnea Gonzales, Anna Dessoye and Alyssa Parker are on the U.S. Women's National Team. The won bronze in the Pan American games this summer.
• Seniors Kelee Lepage, Madison Maguire and recent grad Sabrina Rhodes are on the U.S. Developmental Squad.
• Current Terps Brooke DeBerdine and Kyler Greenwalt are on the U.S. Under-21 Team. Emma DeBerdine, Belle Bressler and Riley Donnelly are on the U.S. U-19 Team.
