COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â The No. 5 Maryland men's basketball team has opened the season 6-0 for the fifth time in the last six years. It will look to jump out to a 7-0 start for the first time since 2016-17 as it faces Harvard in the semifinals of the Orlando Invitational Friday at 11:30 am.

STORYLINES
• Maryland's matchup against Harvard marks the first meeting in history between the schools. It is Maryland's first meeting against an Ivy League opponent since defeating Princeton on Dec. 18, 2015.
• Including yesterday's win over Temple, Maryland is 11-1 in its last 12 neutral site preseason tournament games dating back to the 2013-14 season. The Terps are a formidable 119-52 (.696) all-time in preseason tournaments, including 32 championships and 12 runner-up finishes. Maryland's last title came at the Barclays Classic in 2016.
• Senior
Anthony Cowan Jr. exploded for a career-high 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting in Thursday's win against Temple. It was the most points in a single-game for a Terrapin since Melo Trimble had 32 against Northwestern on Feb. 15, 2017.
• Maryland is looking to start the season 7-0 for the third time under head coach
Mark Turgeon, and just the fourth time since 2000. The Terps won each of their first five games of the season by 18+ points, before defeating Temple by seven points yesterday.
• Maryland continued its superb play on the defensive end by forcing 15 Temple turnovers. The Terps are currently  forcing 16.0 turnovers/g, which ranks second in the Big Ten. For comparison's sake, the Terps single-season high in the
Mark Turgeon era is 12.8/g in the 2013-14 season.

Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 30 points against Temple to move past Derrick Lewis (1984-1988) for 18th all-time in scoring at Maryland with 1,470 points. The Bowie, Md., native also moved into ninth all-time in assists (464). Cowan is one of three players in program history with 1,400 points and 450 assists (Greivis Vasquez, John Lucas). Additionally, Cowan and Cassius Winston (Michigan State) are the only Power-6 players with at least 1440 career points and 460 assists.
