COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Brandon Cray pinned Tahla Farooq and Jaron Smith earned a 23-7 tech. fall over Ramses Montalvo to give the Terps two bonus point victories on the night, while Philip Spadafora and Josh Ugalde also earned decision victories in Maryland's 18-16 loss to George Mason on Friday night.

Brandon Cray on the direction of the program: "Specifically this season showed the beginning of a process for the University of Maryland wrestling team. We've seen big improvements in small areas that are going to add up over time, and I think Alex Clemsen's leading us in the right direction. I can't wait to see how it is in a couple years."

• Cray's first-period fall (0:56) was his 50th career victory. He will be honored tomorrow along with four other seniors as part of Maryland's senior night ceremony.
• Smith's 23-7 tech. fall was the most points scored in an individual dual match by a Maryland wrestler all season.
• Ugalde picked up a 8-3 decision over Tony Lombardo in his first match since November 9. The Bound Brook, N.J. native earned his second win of the season.
• Spadafora improves to 16-12 with a 4-2 decision over Paul Pierce. His 16 wins is third-most on the team. Spadafora wrestled at 184 pounds for the first time this season.
• Maryland started at a weight other than 125 pounds for the third consecutive match. Tonight, the dual started at 149 pounds.
• The Terps' two-point loss was the tightest margin since dropping a 18-16 contest vs. Old Dominion (1/11) at the Virginia Duals.
• Cray, Ugalde, Peter Tedesco, Jahi Jones, and Niko Cappello will be honored during tomorrow's senior night match vs. Rider.
• Saturday's match vs. Rider will start at 6:00 p.m. and will be streamed on BTN Plus.
