COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team hits the road for a pair of meetings in Michigan, first against Wolverines on Friday night and then against the Spartans on Saturday.
The Terps are coming off a sweep of Indiana this past weekend that saw senior
Rainelle Jones put up 12 blocks and 11 kills, her first career double-double. Jones earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for her performance.

WEEKEND STORYLINES
Milestone weekend
- This past weekend saw the Terps notch several career, and season, milestones.
- First and foremost, Head Coach Adam Hughes recorded his 50th career victory on Saturday against Indiana.
- Outside hitter Sam Csire earned her 200th kill of the season and 300th kill of her career.
- Middle blocker Rainelle Jones tied her career-high with 12 blocks on Saturday and set a new career-high with 14 kills on Friday.
Top (b1g) Ten
- Numerous Terps are in the top-ten of the Big Ten across several statistics.
- Libero Milan Gomillion is top in the conference with 4.76 digs per set. She's the only freshman to be leading the conference in a major category.
- Middle blocker Rainelle Jones is the best in the conference, and nation, with 1.9 blocks per set. Laila Ricks is close behind as she's seventh in the conference with 1.3 blocks per set.
- Setter Sydney Dowler ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 10.38 assists per set.
B1G Blocking
- Last season, the Terps were the best blocking team in the Big Ten with 3.12. They were the only team in the conference to average above three blocks per set last season.
- The Terps are once again leading the conference in blocking this season with 3.18.
- Continuing Big Ten play the Terps are set to face Michigan and Michigan State.
- Maryland is 2-12 historically against Michigan. The last victory came February 19, 2021, in five sets.
- Against the Spartans, the Terps are 1-12. The lone victory came October 5, 2019, in five sets.
