COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Goals from seniors
Riley Donnelly,
Mayv Clune,
Kyler Greenwalt, and
Bibi Donraadt lifted No. 4 Maryland (13-5, 4-4 B1G) to a 6-0 win over No. 24 Ohio State on Senior Day. The Terps won their fourth straight game to close the regular season.
Goalie
Noelle Frost posted her sixth shutout of the season as the pouring rain and harsh wind couldn't slow down the Terps on the other end. They outshot the Buckeyes (7-10, 1-7) 14-5. Along with Donnelly, Clune, and Greenwalt,
Hope Rose and
Anna Castaldo got on the scoresheet with a goal apiece.
Maura Verleg and
Emma DeBerdine collected assists on the first two goals of the game.
Missy Meharg's Take
"It was exciting to have different goal scorers, getting two goalkeepers to play and Christina [Calandra] having an opportunity to make a couple saves. You know we moved Maura [Verleg] out of the center back position so she would have to make some plays. It worked to our favor very well and she played very dominantly. You always have to be prepared if people are ready to play or are injured, so we couldn't be in a better place heading into postseason."
