GREENVILLE, NC - The Maryland men's golf team will return to the fairways for the first time in just over a month to compete in the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley. This will be the third tournament of the spring season.
Over the two-day tournament (Mar. 21-22), players will play at 6,831 yards on the par-72 Brook Valley Country Club.
"We've been working hard around the greens over the last few weeks," said head coach Jason Rodenhaver. "The greens complexes are tricky. The bermudagrass is still dominant here at Brook Valley, same for our home course - University of Maryland Golf Course so that works to our advantage as far as looks and how the golf ball will react off the clubface. I have a good feeling about this week; we've had good success at this course."
Last season (2020-21), the Terps finished in a tie for 4th place overall at the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley. Dhaivat Pandya placed third, and Dillon Brown placed fourth last time out.
With Maryland on spring break from classes, head coach Rodenhaver will start his entire lineup. Dillon Brown, Chris Tanabe, Will Koras, Dhaivat Pandya, and Florian Huerlimann will compete in the team format. John Updike, Will Celiberti, Thomas Eubanks, and Joe Parrini will tee it up as individuals in the event.
Other teams participating in the Intercollegiate include host East Carolina, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, IUPUI, Mount Olive, Oakland University, Presbyterian, Southern Miss, Temple, Western Carolina, and West Virginia.
The tournament will consist of three rounds of play (54 holes - day one consisting of 36-holes and day two consisting of 18-holes) in a tee time format beginning at 7:45 a.m. You can follow the on-course action here.
