
Maryland Falls Short at Brook Valley

GREENVILLE, NC - The Maryland men's golf team finished 11th at the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley this weekend (Mar. 21-22) at Brook Valley Country Club at their third stop of the spring season.
Over the two-day 54 hole event, players teed it up on par-72 - 6,830-yard golf course.
The Team
-Graduate Chris Tanabe finished in a seven-way tie for 30th (+12) - - (71-76-81)
-Senior Dillon Brown finished in a two-way tie for 44th (+16) - - (77-79-76)
-Dillon led the field with two eagles.
-Senior Dhaivat Pandya finished in a three-way tie for 50th (+18) - - (76-81-77)
-Senior Will Koras finished alongside his teammate in a three-way tie for 50th (+18) - - (78-77-79)
-Freshman Florian Huelimann finished in a seven-way tie for 53rd (+19) - - (80-78-77)
The Individuals
-Junior John Updike finished in a seven-way tie for 53rd (+19) - - (78-80-77)
-Senior Joe Parrini finished in a two-way for 60th (+20) - - (78-79-79)
-Junior Will Celiberti finished in solo 70th (+24) - - (85-76-79)
-Junior Thomas Eubanks in a three-way tie for 73rd (+27) - - (84-84-75)
Rodenhaver's Take
"Not a great week for us. We've struggled on Bermuda (greens) all year," said head coach Jason Rodenhaver. "All of our guys are bentgrass putters, and we just haven't been to adapt. When you're not making three to four to five birdies a round, you're going to shoot high numbers."
"I still have confidence in these guys; they work their tails off for me," said coach Rodenhaver. "We're headed to Pinehurst for the remainder of spring break for a team reset. We'll get a crack during the upcoming three events as we're on bentgrass (greens).
