COLLEGE PARK, MD --  The Maryland volleyball team returns home to College Park to face No. 11 Purdue and Indiana. Friday's match against Purdue will begin at 6:30 p.m. on November 1. They will then face Indiana on Saturday, November 2 at 7 p.m. 

Friday's match will air on Big Ten Network, followed by Saturday's on B1G+.


On Saturday, fans are encouraged to wear purple as Maryland Volleyball hosts a match to raise awareness around Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Proceeds from our online fundraiser will benefit The Longest Day Alzheimer's Association.

  • Maryland owns a 10-11 season record and sits 1-9 in the Big Ten after dropping a set of conference battles against No. 11 Oregon and Washington last weekend.
  • The Terps have been a dominant force from the end line throughout the season and in conference play. Maryland averages 2.13 service aces per set, leading the Big Ten and ranking seventh in the nation. 
  • Maryland tallied an impressive 14 aces against Oregon and Washington combined.

  • Schnitta leads the team in kills, averaging 3.31 per set. The graduate student has recorded 15 matches with ten or more kills. Behind her sits Sam Csire, averaging 3.32 kills per set. Csire led Maryland in kills against both Oregon and Washington.
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split time on the court in recent conference matches. In conference play, Dowler leads Maryland with 6.72 assists per set while Huang totals 73 assists.
  • Fifth year libero, Lilly Gunter ranks twelfth in the Big Ten averaging 3.36 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in 15 matches at the midway point of the season. Defensive specialist Jonna Spohn has taken on a bigger role in Big Ten play and earned a few starts in recent matches. She has recorded 44 digs across ten conference matches, including a season-high nine against Iowa. 
  • Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 69. The sophomore averages over three blocks per match against conference opponents. Anastasia Russ added six blocks and four kills against Washington on Saturday. She now leads the Terps in blocks per set averaging 1.05.

  • Maryland sits 2-12 against Purdue in program history. The Terps picked up their latest win over the Boilermakers in 2022 against then-No.9 Purdue in straight sets. 
  • These programs met twice last season, with Purdue taking both matches.
  • The Terps own an 11-7 all-time record over Indiana. These squads split their meetings last season, each taking a victory. Maryland won the first matchup in straight sets, followed by a Hoosier win in four sets.

  • No. 11 Purdue sits 16-5 overall and sits at 7-3 in the conference. Last weekend, the Boilermakers had a 1-1 split after beating Ohio State followed by a three–set loss to then-No. 8 Wisconsin.
  • The Boilermakers rank in the top-four in the Big Ten in kills, assists, blocks and digs in the Big Ten, ranking first in digs per set with 15.30. Ali Hornung leads Purdue with a 3.89 digs per set rate. Raven Colvin sits first in the conference in blocks per set, averaging 1.59. 
  • Offensively, the Ducks post a 13.84 kills per set average led by Eva Hudson. Hudson ranks second in the conference with 338 kills. Taylor Anderson sits third in the Big Ten in assists per set with 10.76. 
  • Indiana owns a 10-10 overall record, as well as a 3-7 conference record. It picked up wins against Michigan State, Ohio State and Northwestern. 
  • The Hoosiers rank similarly to Maryland on the defensive side of the ball. They average 12.36 digs per set and 2.11 blocks per set. 
  • A few notable names for Indiana include Candela Alonso-Corcelles and Camryn Haworth for their offensive production. Alonso-Corcelles leads the Hoosiers in kills with 248 and Haworth in assists with 690.
  • Ramsey Gary leads the Big Ten in digs per set, averaging 4.35.
  • Indiana will face Rutgers on Friday before facing off against the Terps on Saturday.
