COLLEGE PARK, MD --  Maryland volleyball prepares for final road series against Michigan and Michigan State. The Terps will open the weekend in Ann Arbor to face the Wolverines at 7 p.m. on November 21. They will then travel to East Lansing to face the Spartans at 1 p.m. on November 23. 

Both matches will air on B1G+.

  • Maryland sits at 13-14 this season and owns a 4-12 conference record after splitting the weekend, picking up a win over Ohio State and falling to No. 4 Penn State.
  • The Terps have remained at the top of the leaderboard for service aces in the final month of the regular season. Maryland averages 2.01 aces per set, leading the Big Ten and ranking eighth in the nation. 
  • Samantha Schnitta leads Maryland with .79 aces per set, leading the NCAA for the eighth-straight week. After adding ten aces last weekend, she is now the program's all-time single season aces record holder at 77, previously held by Lynnsy Jones ('03).

  • Schnitta leads the team in kills, averaging 3.42 per set. The graduate student has recorded 19 matches with ten or more kills and set a new career-high (22) against UCLA. Behind her sits Sam Csire, averaging 2.73 kills per set.
  • Katie Scherer stepped into a larger role in November. She added 15 kills, seven digs and five blocks on the weekend.
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split time on the court throughout conference play. They both average over five assists per set. In conference play, Dowler leads Maryland with 5.17 assists per set while Huang totals 210 assists.
  • Fifth year libero, Lilly Gunter ranks twelfth in the Big Ten averaging 3.36 digs per set. She has added 15 or more digs in three of her four most recent matches. Defensive specialist Ally Williams owns 167 digs on the year, including a career-high 12 digs against Oregon.
  • Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 92. Rohrbach posted 10 blocks against Michigan State earlier this season. Anastasia Russ added 10 blocks and six kills last weekend. She leads the Terps in blocks per set averaging 1.09.

  • Maryland sits 3-16 against Michigan in program history. The Terps and Wolverines met twice last year, splitting the matches 1-1. Maryland took the first match in straight sets, followed by a three-set victory for Michigan in Ann Arbor. 
  • The last time Maryland picked up a win in Ann Arbor was during the 2020-21 COVID season.
  • Saturday's match will be the seventeenth meeting between Michigan State and Maryland with the Spartans holding a 13-4 all-time record over the Terps. 
  • These programs met earlier this month, with Maryland taking a 3-0 victory in College Park.

  • Michigan sits 16-11 overall and owns a 6-10 conference record. Last weekend, the Wolverines went 0-2 with two four-set losses to Michigan State and No. 16 Minnesota.
  • The Wolverines own the seventh-best kills per set rate (13.18), led by Allison Jacobs who averages 4.09 kps. On the defensive side, Michigan owns the lowest blocks per set rate in the Big Ten (1.93), but average 13.87 digs per set led by Maddi Cuchran. Setter Morgan Burke owns over 1,000 assists on the season.
  • Michigan State owns a 11-16 overall record and sit 4-12 in the conference. The Spartans have won three-straight matches after dropping the to Terps earlier this month.
  • The Spartans rank similarly to Maryland in kills, averaging a slightly higher rate of 12.14. They rank in the top-10 of the conference in blocks and digs.
  • A few notable names for Michigan State include Akasha Anderson and Julia Bishop for their offensive production. Zuzanna Kulig owns 137 blocks and Nalani Iosia has tallied 445 digs on the year.
  • Michigan State will face Oregon at home before hosting the Terps on Saturday.
