As a Redshirt Freshman (2016-17): Went 13-11 at 157 pounds while winning three duals…nine of his wins came as bonus point victories, including five pins…won six matches at the Southeast Open, posting a pin, two major decisions and a tech fall to go 6-1 overall (11/6)…won three matches at the Bearcat Open, pinning Hofstra’s Ricky Stamm in 43 seconds (11/13)…pinned Lock Haven’s Kyle Hammond in 6:31 in first career dual match (11/20)…earned major decision over Columbia’s Max Elling at Grapple at the Garden (11/27)…posted fall over Mike Sicola (George Mason) at 6:50 (12/9)…pinned Oregon State’s Bryce Parson in 50 seconds at Midlands (12/29).
As a Freshman (2015-16): Went 15-10 while serving a redshirt year in first collegiate season…wrestled at both 149 and 157 pounds…won Messiah Open Title at 157 pounds…won seven of final eight matches to end the season…Went 2-2 at Bearcat Open, notching two victories by fall (11/8)…pinned Joao Vicente (Johnson & Wales) at 4:15 for first collegiate win (11/8)…finished 3-2 at Wolfpack Open, winning a match by pin or technical fall (11/22)…finished 2-2 at Franaklin & Marshal Open, picking up decision victories over VMI’s Jack Krall and Virginia’s MJ Roberson (12/30)…went 3-2 at Shorty Hitchcock Open, including a win by pin vs. Alex Klucker (Lock Haven) at 0:44 (1/16)…went 3-0 at Messiah Open to capture first collegiate tournament title (2/6)…won final match of the season at National Collegiate Open over Logan Parks (Central Michigan) before defaulting due to injury (3/5).
Before Maryland: Finished sixth at the 2015 National Preps to earn All American status… finished second at the 2015 Pan Am Junior Greco-Roman Championships… finished fifth at the 2012 FILA Cadet Greco-Roman World Championships.
