As a Redshirt Sophomore (2016-17): Won five matches in open tournament competition at 197 before missing the majority of the season due to injury…beat VMI’s Taylor Thomas and App. State’s Randall Diabe by decision at Southeast Open (11/6)…went 2-2 at Bearcat Open, beating Brown’s Joshua Durso-Finley 6- and majoring Ohio’s Devin King (11/13).
As a Redshirt Freshman (2015-16): 7-15 overall record on the season…went 2-1 at the Bearcat Open while recording a tech fall and pin (11/8)…picked up first dual win of the season at the Grapple at the Garden over Hofstra’s Omar Haddad (11/29)…downed Nezar Haddad (Drexel) by decision, 6-2 (12/5)…earned major decision over Cordell Eaton (North Dakota State) at Midlands Championships (12/29)…secured first Big Ten victory over Jacob Cooper in Maryland first conference win over Michigan State (1/10)…won by technical fall over Cameron Houston (George Mason) on February 14.
As a Freshman (2014-15): Served a redshirt season and won 27 times at 197 pounds…recorded the second most wins on the team behind fellow freshman Alfred Bannister…won his debut collegiate match at the Clarion Open and won two other matches at the event (11/2)…grabbed a pair of wins at the Bearcat Open (11/9)…captured the TCNJ Open title with a 6-2 victory over the host’s Nathaniel Leer in the final (11/22)…grabbed one win at the Mat Town Open (11/30)…notched two wins at the Nittany Lion Open (12/7)…ripped off four straight wins to nab third place at the Wilkes Open (12/28)…won four times at the F&M Open (1/3)…won twice at the Shorty Hitchcock Open (1/18) and the Messiah Open (2/7)…won once at the shortened National Collegiate Open (3/1).
Before Maryland: A two-time Pennsylvania state medalist…finished eighth as a junior and third as a senior…a 2014 sectional, district, and regional champion…scored bonus points in all but four postseason matches.
Personal: Enjoys hunting and fishing...has three sisters...Majoring in communication.
