COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has released its final NCAA Division I poll of the 1998 season, and the Maryland Terrapins (14-5, 3-1 ACC) are ranked seventh with 69 points. The Terps climb one spot from last weeks eighth place ranking.
Old Dominion retains the top spot in the poll for the fourth consecutive week. Virginia, Princeton, North Carolina and Connecticut are in spots two through five respectively.
The Terps compete in the ACC Tournament this weekend in Charlottesville, Va. They are seeded second, and face third-seeded North Carolina in the semifinals on Friday at noon. The ACC finals are on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised live on Home Team Sports.
