COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team held a single practice session this evening and the session was marked by an injury to senior wide receiver Guilian Gary, who was flown via helicopter from the Maryland practice fields after suffering a cervical spinal injury during team drills.

Gary was taken to the R. Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He will be treated at the center by Maryland head team physician Dr. Leigh Ann Curl. Gary has movement and feeling, but has weakness on his left side. X-rays and CT scans were normal.

CHANGE IN PRACTICE SCHEDULE
The Terps have had a minor change in this week's practice schedule leading up to Thursday's scrimmage and Fan Day on Saturday. The updated schedule is as follows:
Tue -- 3:30 p.m. (no morning practice)
Wed -- 8:00 a.m. & 5:15 p.m.
Thu -- 3:30 p.m. (closed to public and media)
Fri -- 8 a.m., 5:15 p.m.
Sat -- 3:30 p.m. (Fan Day)

GRAND ENTRANCE
The Terrapins have announced what could become a new tradition on game day in College Park -- Terp Alley. Approximately two hours before every home game, the team will be let out of the bus at the circle on Field House Drive, between the football press box at Byrd and Ludwig Field. The Terps will be led down the drive and to the Gossett Team House by the Maryland Marching Band and cheerleaders. Fans are encouraged to line the street and cheer the team on en route to the locker room. It is a tradition that has caught on and become part of the game day lore at places like Ole Miss, where fans root the team on in "The Grove."

FAN DAY SLATED FOR THIS SATURDAY
Terrapin fans can meet and greet members of the 2001 Maryland football team following Saturday's scrimmage, which gets underway at 3:30 p.m. This year's Terrapin squad will be on hand to sign autographs, beginning at approximately 5:45 p.m.
