University of Maryland's men's golf team tied for 13th place in the 15-team Cleveland Golf/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate here Tuesday.
The Terps, who opened the 2002 fall campaign with the 54-hole tournament at Turtle Point Golf Course, carded rounds of 307-304-309-920 to tie with South Carolina and LSU.
The tournament was won by host College of Charleston for the second straight year. The Cougars finished with a 15-over-par total of 879. Mississippi finished second with a three-round total of 887.
Maryland junior Tim Kane led the Terps' contingent, finishing in 28th place with a 54-hole score of 228. Kane carded rounds of 76-74-78. Kane was followed by senior captain John Moheyer (231, tie for 39th), true freshman John Eades (233, tie for 47th), sophomore Bobby MacWhinnie (237, tie for 62nd) and redshirt freshman Jeff Spradlin (240, tie for 69th).
