Postcards from New England - Part 4

Sept. 2, 2003

AMHERST, Mass. - The Maryland field hockey team ends its five day trip to Massachusetts and freshmen Megan Fox and Emily Trycinski give a recap of their first weekend as Terps.

UM had a successful trip, sweeping the weekend and going 3-0 after a 6-0 triumph over Quinnipiac. The Terps hit the road quickly, however, with a road trip to Old Dominion on Sept. 6.

Hey everyone!

We're finally home from New England! We all had a lot of fun but we are glad to be home and anxious to start classes.

We played our third and final game today versus Quinnipiac this morning. The weather wasn't the nicest but we made the best of it. The team played well and we came out on top. As a team we played our game of hockey while focusing on the goals we set prior to and during the game. As usual, we concluded our time at UMass with a tailgate, joining Quinnipiac for sandwiches and snacks while socializing with parents, friends, and teammates before leaving for the airport.

We got dinner at the airport and this gave us time to sit down and recap the whole weekend. The plane ride was nice and quick with very little turbulence. It was great to be back in this fine state of Maryland! The bus ride was one of the best! It was definitly full of music and dancing!!! Everyone took their turns singing. Even us freshmen got up and belted out a tune! It was so much fun. It was sad that the fun had to end but we were very glad to be home and back in College Park.

All in all this trip was a success in more ways than one! Everyone had such a great time and it was a great way to kick off the season!

Yours in Terp Field Hockey,
Emily Trycinski #8 and Megan Fox #21
