Maryland Women's Golf Tied for Seventh Place After 18 Holes at Penn State Invitational

The Maryland women's golf team shot a collective 311 and enters Sunday's final two rounds in a seventh place tie with Rollins College. Saturday's first round was delayed for 1 hour 17 minutes due to lightning and was eventually called for darkness.

Penn State leads its home tournament after firing a school-record 1-over par 289 on Saturday. UC-Irvine sits seven strokes back after shooting a 296. Princeton (302), Yale (308) and the College of Charleston (309) round out the top five.

Play resumes tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with the teams set to play 36 holes on the Penn State Blue Course. For more information on Maryland golf, please visit the school's official athletics site at www.umterps.com.
