  • The No. 17/21 Maryland men's basketball team knocked off No. 6 Boston College, 73-71, Sunday evening at the Comcast Center in the Eagles' first ever Atlantic Coast Conference contest. Maryland moves to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference while BC drops to 7-2 and 0-1 in the ACC.

  • The Terps now lead the all-time series with the Eagles, 4-1. Today was the teams' first meeting since 1990, when Maryland won, 100-85.

  • Maryland has now won five of their last six ACC openers. They are 29-24 in ACC openers all-time.

  • The Terps are a perfect 5-0 at the Comcast Center this season.

  • Williams improved to 341-180 at Maryland and is now just eight wins shy of becoming the program's all-time winningest coach. Charles "Lefty" Driesell is currently at the top of the list with 348.

  • Under Williams, Maryland has 28 wins over top-10 opponents in 17 seasons. They are 13-8 against top-10 teams during the last five seasons.

  • The win was Maryland's first over a top-10 opponent since Feb. 12, 2005 when the Terps knocked off No. 7 Duke, 99-92 in overtime.

  • Junior Ekene Ibekwe scored a season-high 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting.

  • Ibekwe scored Maryland's first six points, and 11 of its first 13.

  • The Terps made more free throws (19) than the Eagles attempted (15).

  • Maryland limited the Eagles to just two free throw attempts in the first half, both of which they missed. Their previous season-low for free throw attempts was 20.

  • Senior Chris McCray reached the 1,000-point plateau for his career with 16 points tonight. He has been in double digits in scoring all eight games he's played this season. The shooting guard also recorded a season-high two blocks.

  • At the half, the Terps led by two at 35-33. Ibekwe paced the Terps with 15 points and five rebounds. For BC, Craig Smith and Jared Dudley each had 10 points at the break.
