POSITION VACANCY

 

POSITION TITLE:                Assistant Director of Sports Marketing

 

DEPARTMENT:                   Intercollegiate Athletics

 

CATEGORY:             Full-time, Contingent II

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Assistant Director of Sports Marketing will assist with the development of marketing programs and activities that cultivate interest and support for intercollegiate athletics.  Specific responsibilities include: development, implementation and evaluation of the promotional plan for the Junior Terps Club; development of the marketing initiatives and all game operations for men's soccer; assistance of game day operations and promotions for football and men's and women's basketball; oversight for marketing initiatives and game day operations for Olympic sports; assistance and fulfillment of group marketing initiatives; assist in the management of student workers; coordinating and staffing all campus events to promote intercollegiate athletics; and other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree required.  A minimum of two years experience in sports marketing (preferably in a Division I athletic program) or entertainment environment.  Knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), familiarity with PageMaker, Photoshop and Netitor internet publishing software preferred.

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience
