POSITION VACANCY

 

POSITION TITLE:               Video Director (Men's Basketball)

 

DEPARTMENT:                   Intercollegiate Athletics

 

CATEGORY:                         Full-time Exempt (100086)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:    Direct supervision of video unit, including assistant video director, video intern, student video managers, scheduling and budget.  Primarily responsible for coordinating video needs of men's basketball, including opponent cutups, self-scout cutups, taping and dubbing of practice, taping television games, etc.  Supervise assistant video director and other staff to ensure that video needs for women's basketball and Olympic sports are being met.  Manage numerous video projects (e.g. motivational videos, season highlight videos, recruiting videos, interviews, etc.), as needed, including footage acquisition, shooting, writing, editing, etc.  Assist outside contractor with game day video production of men's and women's basketball and football games.  Oversee maintenance of all video equipment throughout the athletic department.  Order and maintain video supplies.  Will be required to work non-standard hours and travel to numerous athletic and related events.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:     Bachelor's degree required.  Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience working with Betacam, SVHS, and VHS equipment, including cameras and editing decks; field acquisition of athletic events, either coaches angle or tight footage; experience using computer-based, non-linear (Avid Sports Pro / Avid Xpress) and linear (LSVE or STVE) editing packages; SportTech editing system; Chyron Duet or similar character generator systems; Panasonic DVCPro tape machines; Ikegami HL-45A cameras; Mackie audio boards; FORA or similar digital replay servers; Clearcom intercom systems (wired and wireless); experience in producing and editing projects, such as motivational and season highlight videos; experience in producing and editing projects for websites.

 

SALARY:       Commensurate with experience.
