Sept. 5, 2005

College Park, Md. - Maryland Athletics and the Terrapin Sports Radio Network invite fans to tune-in and call-in to the debut edition of "Terps Talk", the new, two-hour call-in show hosted by Johnny Holliday and dedicated to Terps sports.

This week, Johnny will recap Maryland's thrilling 23-20 victory over Navy, look ahead to the Byrd Stadium opener this Saturday against Clemson and interview men's soccer coach Sasho Cirovski and senior forward Jason Garey.

A crowd of 67,809 nearly filled M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Saturday for the first meeting between Maryland and Navy since 1965. Terps QB Sam Hollenbach went 19-for-30 for 217 yards, and RB Mario Merrills ran for 149 yards on 30 carries to lead Maryland to victory. The Terps welcome the Clemson Tigers to College Park this Saturday, September 10th at 12:00 noon.

Coach Cirovski has led Maryland to three-consecutive College Cup appearances. Since his arrival in College Park in 1993, the Terps have been to the NCAA Tournament ten times and captured two ACC Tournament titles (1996 and 2002) and one ACC regular season title (2003). His sights are set high in 2005, with the nation's second-ranked recruiting class being added to a team that returns seven starters.

Jason Garey led Maryland with 23 goals and 53 points in 2004. His many accolades include being named NSCAA third team All-America, College Soccer News second team honoree, Sports Illustrated On Campus Player of the Year, All-ACC first team, MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist and CoSIDA District II Academic All-America.
