COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Looking to bounce back from its only loss of the season, the second-ranked Maryland field hockey team hosts Villanova on Friday, Oct. 26 to close out the regular season. Maryland will honor its three seniors prior to the start of the game in the annual Senior Night ceremony.

Maryland (16-1) is looking to end the regular season on a right note, looking to redeem itself from its only loss of the season last weekend to No. 1 North Carolina, 3-0. The team is also looking to post its first perfect home season since the 1999 campaign. Entering the game, the Terps have gone 9-0 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex this season.

Villanova is also looking to snap a three-game skid, coming into Friday night's game with a 10-6 record. The Wildcats have been a solid road team, going 7-2 away from home. Their only road losses have been to national powers North Carolina (7-2) and Syracuse (4-2). Friday night's contest is the first-ever between the teams.

Maryland will take a few minutes before the game to honors seniors Kathryn Masson (Richmond, British Columbia), Janneke van Leeuwen (Hilversum, Netherlands) and Kim Ziegler (Kingsville, Md.). Thie 2007 seniors could go down as the winningest class in school history. They currently rank second behind the 2006 seniors with 81 wins. The 2006 class collected 83-career victories. Masson, van Leeuwen and Ziegler have helped the Terps post an 88.0 win percentage over the last four years, currently the winningest percentage in program history.

This year's seniors have also accounted for two All-American citations, four Mid-Atlantic All-Region nods and three Academic All-ACC honors. The trio has helped Maryland win back-to-back national championships in 2005 and 2006, also capturing the 2005 ACC Tournament crown.

Admission and parking to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex is free. The game can also be heard online on Maryland's WMUC Sports at www.wmucsports.com.
