POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director, Terrapin Club
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time, Exempt Contingent II
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director will work as a member of the athletics development staff, assisting the Executive Director of the Terrapin Club with identifying and soliciting prospects to increase membership in the Terrapin Club. Specific responsibilities include: assisting with the coordination of the membership campaign, phone-a-thons, and assisting with annual mailings; serving as liaison between the Terrapin Club office and volunteers; working with volunteers to identify new prospects; coordinating the marketing initiatives to increase Terrapin Club visibility; providing customer service to donors, including assisting in the administration of donor benefits; planning and coordination of fundraising and stewardship events; researching major gift prospects; preparing and distributing current/past donor surveys; performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. At least two years of related work experience, preferably in collegiate athletics development office or other fundraising related environment. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely present information to a diverse group of potential and current donors, volunteers, and campus employees. Computer literacy with Word, PageMaker, Excel, Paciolan, and the Internet is preferred. Attendance at all home football and men's basketball games required. Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends. Some travel required.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
