Connecticut head coach Nancy Stevens and players addressed the media about their NCAA semifinal matchup against No. 1 North Carolina at the pre-championship press conference on Thursday.

On playing in the semifinals for the second-consecutive year:
"We're excited to be back. Last year, we had a great experience playing Maryland (in the semifinal) and going to penalty strokes against them. We're excited to come back and improve upon that."

On this semifinal compared to last year's against Maryland:
"This match-up is probably very comparable. The ACC is a great conference and is so competitive. Two years ago we went to double overtime against Duke, last year we went to penalty strokes with Maryland, so we're excited for this opportunity."

On facing an undefeated team in North Carolina:
"You know what's exciting is that we both have 22 wins and over the past two seasons, we have the most wins in Division I with 43. Our focus is on what makes us special."

On facing North Carolina:
"They've had a great a season. We prepare for them like any other team. We're going to go out there and play Connecticut hockey and just concentrate on the little things that will help us win."
