POSITION TITLE: Assistant Coach - Track & Field/Cross Country
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Non-tenured, Exempt Faculty (100126)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a competitive, Division I men's and women's cross country and indoor/outdoor track programs. Responsibilities will include recruiting, coaching, coordinating team travel, practice and game scheduling, and assisting with the administration of team budgets. Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to full academic development of student-athletes are essential. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. At least 3-5 years of coaching experience in cross country & track with an strong emphasis in cross country preferably at the Division I collegiate level. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
