Georgia State University has selected Cheryl Levick as their new Director of Athletics. She has served as the Executive Senior Associate AD and Chief of Staff for Maryland Athletics since the summer of 2007. Immediately prior to that, she was the Athletic Director for four years at Saint Louis University.
"Georgia State could not have made a better hire than Cheryl," Maryland Director of Athletics, Deborah A. Yow, commented. "She will hit the ground running, doing what is necessary to elevate their athletics program, including the addition of football."
Levick will begin her new position March 30th.
"I am absolutely delighted to be the new Athletic Director at Georgia State University," Levick stated. "This is an exciting time for the University and I am proud to be a part of President' Becker's team to take the athletic department to the next level. With the current coaching staff, and the addition of football, Georgia Sate Athletics has a bright and promising future and I am proud to be its new leader.
I want to thank Debbie Yow for her continuous support and I will miss the entire athletic department and the many Terp fans I have gotten to know."
