Led by Jessica Hollandsworth's 3-over par 74, the Maryland women's golf team sits tied for sixth, just eight strokes back of fifth-place Duke, after the first day of the ACC Women's Golf Championships. Hollandsworth's round leaves her in a tie for ninth place, eight stokes off the pace.
Competing at Sedgefield Country Club, the Terrapins benefited from an 8-over par round by senior Lara Peffley. She carded a 79, leaving her in a tie for 23rd overall. Alexis Holmes finishes just a shot back of Peffley, shooting an 80 to tie for 26th.
Kerri Connolly handed in the next round for Maryland, shooting 13-over par 84 to tie for 33rd. Hilary Lawson rounded out the Terps' lineup with a 14-over score of 85, tied for 36th.
Lawson will be the first off the tee for Maryland tomorrow, going off at 9:20 a.m. She will be followed by Connolly, Holmes, Peffley and then Hollandsworth at ten minute intervals, with Hollandsworth scheduled to go off at 10 a.m.
