Welcome Back! It is that time yet again. Summer has officially come to a close, you have moved into your dorm and it's time to hit both the books and your sports. We here at the ASCDU are excited and looking forward to seeing you all at our Terps Turnout that will be held on the first day of classes August 31, 2009 at 7:00. This is a wonderful event to become more acquainted with other student athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
We realize that as student athletes you face unique challenges, as such we aim to aid you in meeting your first commitment which is to your academic studies. We encourage you to peruse the new and improved website filled with valuable information and resources that offers you the ability to request a tutor online, print out calendars for the year, and much more. Study Hall officially begins on September 13, 2009. Congratulations to all of the student athletes that earned a 3.0 or higher for either of semester of last school year. You will be recognized during halftime of the UMD vs. Middle Tennessee State University game on Saturday September 19, 2009 at 3:30pm.
We are hosting an information workshop for all incoming freshman in Heritage Hall on September 3, 2009 at 7:00pm. Our first of many career development workshops and information sessions for all student athletes will be held on September 9, 2009, in Heritage Hall, beginning at 6:45pm. This workshop will be dedicated to job searching and resume writing. We encourage you to come out and learn some valuable tips on how to make yourself as marketable to prospective employers as possible.
Throughout the year we will be hosting various events. Please take advantage of the resources that we have to offer you. If you have any questions, many can be answered on our website, or simply by coming into our office, which is located on the first floor of the Comcast Center. We hope that you begin your year well and complete it even better than you began and are here to support you in any way that we can.
