POSITION TITLE: Assistant Coach – Men's Lacrosse
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is one of the more comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million in the context of a distinguished academic University. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and near Columbia, Maryland, which was recently listed as the #4 “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine. Currently, 92 of the University's academic programs are ranked in their respective Top 25 nationally. The Maryland Men's Lacrosse program is rich in tradition and success, as evidenced by its 2 NCAA National Championships, 9 appearances in the NCAA Championship Game, and 25 ACC Tournament Championships. The team competes in beautiful Byrd Stadium, host of 10 NCAA Championship Games, which seats approximately 55,000 following the addition of mezzanine seating and luxury suites in 2009. Coaches' offices are located in the 440,000 square foot, on-campus Comcast Center, built in 2002.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, Division I men's lacrosse program. Assist in the coordination of recruiting, scouting, coaching and other responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least 2-3 years experience coaching men's lacrosse, preferably at the collegiate level. Previous college playing experience helpful. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills required. SALARY: Commensurate with experience. Competitive nationally.
