Terrapin Club Internship

 

The University of Maryland Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a responsible, motivated and qualified candidate for a fall semester internship position with the Terrapin Club. This is an ideal position for a student who is required to complete an internship in order to earn their undergraduate or graduate degree in the Sport Management field (or related field). This is an unpaid position and does not come with benefits, but the selected candidate will obtain experience to help prepare for an entry-level position in intercollegiate athletics.  

 

The responsibilities for this position include:

·         Provide customer service to Terrapin Club members, with a focus on Bronze, Silver and Silver 275 level members

·         Help coordinate volunteers to work Terrapin Club membership tables at home sporting events throughout the year

·         Assist with all functions of the Student Terrapin Club and Young Alumni Program

·         Attend all home football games and assist with Terrapin Club game day operations.

·         Attend all major Terrapin Club events throughout the fall, assisting with planning, coordination and implementation

·         Assist Terrapin Club staff with all components of the Terrapin Club District System

·         Assist with planning and operations of the Terrapin Club Online Auction

·         Conduct research into programs and initiatives of peer institutions

·         Explore use of social media to enhance fundraising initiatives

·         Other duties as assigned

 

This internship is a four-month position with an anticipated start date of September 13, 2010. The deadline for applications to be received is August 16, 2010. Applicants should email a resume and three references to:
