GUADALAJARA, Mexico - Terrapin alum Katie O'Donnell helped lead Team USA to a 4-2 win over top-ranked Argentina Friday in the gold medal game of the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara. The win clinched their bid to the 2012 London Olympics.

O'Donnell scored the USA's third goal as time expired in the first half off of a penalty corner. O'Donnell was left unmarked by the post to send in the score for the 3-1 lead at the break.

"We have made history today by getting a bid to the Olympics," said O'Donnell. "I don't think anyone on this field thought that we would ever lose this match and that was the most important thing we had going for us. We had so much trust in each other and knew we would come out on top."

Argentina won last year's world title and had not lost a game in the Pan Am Games since 1987. The USA is ranked 13th and finished eighth at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
