COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Four members of the 2011 national champion Maryland field hockey team (19-4) earned All-American honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association, the organization announced Monday.

Senior Jemma Buckley, junior Megan Frazer and sophomore Jill Witmer were named to the First Team, while junior Harriet Tibble was named to the Second Team. This is the second honor for Buckley, Frazer and Witmer and the first for Tibble.

Buckley led the Terrapins with 22 goals on the season, including five game-winners. She scored four goals in the Terps' national championship run.

Frazer had nine goals and five assists on the season, including two scores in the NCAA Tournament.

Witmer finished the season with 16 goals and three assists and had the game-winner in the NCAA Championship game Sunday. In the 81st minute of play, she subbed in on the sideline and streaked down the field and across to the right side of the goal before netting the winning goal.

Tibble, one of the nation's top defenders, led the ACC in assists with 19 on the season. She notched three in Maryland's NCAA Tournament streak and scored the game-winning goal vs. No. 3 Syracuse in overtime to send the Terps to the NCAA Semifinals.

All four were named to the All-ACC Team last month and were also named to the NCAA All-Tournament team after Sunday's win.

Buckley, Frazer, Witmer and sophomore Ali McEvoy were named All-Americans by womensfieldhockey.com. Buckley and Frazer made the First Team, while Witmer and McEvoy made the Second Team.

Freshmen Maxine Fluharty and Katie Gerzabek were named to womensfieldhockey.com's All-Rookie Squad.

In Sunday's NCAA title game, Maryland came back from a two-goal deficit with less than four minutes remaining in regulation to top No. 1 North Carolina (23-2) in overtime for its eighth national title and fifth in seven years.

Since the NCAA began seeding the top four teams in the Tournament in 2002, the Terps are the first unseeded team to win a title. They beat the top three teams (Syracuse, Old Dominion, North Carolina) in order, en route to their repeat crown.

This marked the Terps' 11th appearance in the NCAA Finals and fifth time Maryland and North Carolina had met in the NCAA title game, including the last three straight years.
