COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Terrapin Katie O'Donnell was named to the Pan American Elite Squad for her performance in helping Team USA win gold at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

O'Donnell scored in the U.S.'s 4-2 victory over top-ranked Argentina in the gold medal game. With the win, the Americans clinched their bid to the 2012 London Olympics.

Since 2007, the Pan American Elite Teams have been named every two years to recognize the top players in the Pan American region. Hockey specialists present at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara and at the 2011 Pan American Challenge in Rio de Janeiro were consulted for the selection of this year's Elite Teams.

The USA's other representatives on the team are Rachel Dawson, Lauren Crandall and Jackie Kintzer.
