COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Six former Terrapins have come to terms on NFL free-agent contracts and will attempt to join former teammates Torrey Smith and Da'Rel Scott, who were selected in April's draft, on league rosters this fall.
Punter/place-kicker Travis Baltz (Indianapolis Colts), wide receiver Adrian Cannon (San Diego Chargers), linebacker Adrian Moten (Indianapolis Colts), wide receiver LaQuan Williams (Baltimore Ravens), linebacker Alex Wujciak (Cleveland Browns) and tight end Will Yeatman (New England Patriots) each signed free-agent deals, according to the players.
A four-year starter, Baltz ranks in the top 5 of each of Maryland's career punting records. He was also a four-time member of the Academic All-ACC team, one of just three players to accomplish that feat in school history.
Cannon played 45 games in his career and ranked second on the team in receptions each of his final two seasons. As a junior (2009), he turned in career bests with 44 receptions, 468 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Moten started the last 25 games of his career and left Maryland ranked 12th in school history with 15.5 sacks and 14th with 24 tackles for loss. As a senior, he ranked fourth on the team with a career-high 77 tackles, and his career-best four interceptions were the second-most in the nation among linebackers.
In Baltimore, Williams will attempt to make a roster that includes Smith, who was drafted by the Ravens in the second round (55th overall). In addition to playing all three wide receiver positions in his career, Williams was a standout special-teams performer as a senior.
A three-time All-ACC selection, Wujciak started every game (38) of his three-year career at middle linebacker. He ended the 2010 season ranked third in the FBS in career tackles per game (10.0) among active players, and finished his career 10th on the Maryland all-time tackle chart (381).
Yeatman was a two-sport standout for Maryland, playing two seasons of lacrosse and a year of football. In 11 games last season, the 6-foot-6 tight end caught 13 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.
