Spring Play Day

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The 2011 national champion Maryland field hockey team will welcome Princeton, James Madison, American, Drexel and Syracuse to College Park the next two weekends for spring competition days.

"The Terps are fit and ready to continue our offseason competition," head coach Missy Meharg said. "Coming off an indoor season, culminated by winning the Big Apple Indoor Tournament, we have amped up our fitness and moved out to the astroturf. Having the opportunity to play Ivy League champion Princeton and JMU this weekend, followed up by Big East champion Syracuse, American and Drexel the following weekend, will provide us with top 20 NCAA competition and tactics representing four different conferences. "

On March 31, Princeton and James Madison will come to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Each team will play each other beginning at 11 a.m.

March 31 Schedule

11 a.m. - Maryland vs. Princeton
12:15 p.m. - Maryland vs. James Madison
1:30 p.m. - Princeton vs. James Madison

On April 7, American, Drexel and Syracuse will come into town.

April 7 Schedule

11 a.m. - American vs. Maryland
11:45 a.m. - Drexel vs. Syracuse
12:30 p.m. - American vs. Syracuse
1:15 p.m. - Drexel vs. Maryland
2 p.m. - Drexel vs. American
2:45 p.m. - Syracuse vs. Maryland

Admission is free for both days and all fans are welcome to attend.
