USA Closes Out Series With #2 Argentina

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Keli Smith Puzo and Katie O'Donnell helped round out Team USA's series vs. No. 2 Argentina with a tie Saturday at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

The series kicked-off June 18 at the University of Virginia and ended with a tie of 1-1. Smith Puzo and O'Donnell connected to score Team USA's lone goal in that match.

The tournament continued on June 20 at Old Dominion University and the U.S. walked off the field with a victory and a final score of 2-1. They met again the following day on Old Dominion's turf but Argentina claiming a 3-0 victory. The series marked Team USA's last games before heading to London at the end of July.

Head coach Missy Meharg commentated for NBC Saturday in the broadcast of the matchup. She worked alongside Mike Corey on the broadcast. The duo will work together for NBC during the London Olympics.

After Saturday's game, the members of Team USA and supporters gathered for a banquet, which was emceed by Meharg and Corey.

This will mark Smith Puzo's second appearance in the Olympics, after competing in Beijing in 2008, and O'Donnell's first. Smith Puzo helped lead the Terrapins to a national title in 1999, while O'Donnell helped win two in 2008 and 2010.
