Maryland defender Colleen Gulick has been a key piece to the Terps' two national championships, but she's also the No. 3 cyclist in the country. Gulick has been cycling for years and competes on the highest stage in the U.S. in the hockey off-season.
Gulick, a defender for the Terps' hockey team, is currently closing out the USA Criterium Series, which consists of 10 races between March and September all over the country. She races in the Women's Pro/1/2 field and is currently the No. 1 Under 25 rider and No. 3 out of all pro women.
As the No. 1 U25 rider, she wears wear a special white jersey to designate that she is the leader. She will travel to Boise, Idaho this Saturday for the 9th race (out of 10) in the series.
Gulick is also currently cycling on the velodrome every Tuesday and Friday night. She has been consistently placing in the top three pro women at the velodrome- racing against an international field containing the New Zealand Olympic Team member, two junior world champions, and many other pro women.
In her career as a Terrapin, Gulick has started in 63 career games, helping Maryland to a 65-6 record. Last year, the was named to the NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region First Team.
