COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former University of Maryland football All-American Kevin Glover has been named Associate Athletic Director/ Executive Director of the M Club, as announced Friday.

A name familiar to Maryland and NFL fans, Glover is in his ninth season with the Terrapins, previously serving as the coordinator of development, alumni and community relations for the football program. Glover, a member of the school's Athletics Hall of Fame and a three-time Pro Bowl selection for the Detroit Lions, also served as a liaison between Maryland and the NFL, handling all scout and agent relations.

"We are very excited to have Kevin transition into this important role within Maryland athletics," director of athletics Kevin Anderson said. "He has an incredible way about him as well as tremendous respect from our letter-winners, alumni, fans and everyone associated with our athletics program. Kevin is held in high esteem in both college athletics and in our community, and he will be an outstanding leader of the M Club and role model and mentor for our student-athletes."

Glover will oversee the daily operation of the M Club which now has over 1500 members. The "M" Club also sponsors the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Terp Awards, team reunions and championship commemorations.

"We are thrilled to have Kevin take the reins of the M Club," Kelly Mehrtens, deputy athletics director, said. "He brings a wealth of experience not only as a distinguished professional at Maryland but also as a former Terrapin student-athlete."

"Kevin truly epitomizes what it means to be a student-athlete at the University of Maryland and we are thrilled to have him be a new leader for our organization," M Club president Marjorie Bollinger Baker said. "His expertise from our University, athletic department, and alumni groups such as the MGN, combined with his past involvement with the M Club made him the perfect candidate for our organization."
