Sept. 21, 2012

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Program (SARPP) Coordinator Fatima Burns will speak with student-athletes on the issues surrounding sexual assault and relationship violence on campus.

The goal of the seminar is to increase awareness of sexual assault and relationship violence while educating student-athletes on what steps they can take if they are involved or witness either situation.

The Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Program Advocate Office (SARPP) is an office whose mission is to respond to incidents of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment.

The SARPP Office provides free and confidential resources, support and assistance to any member of the UMD community who is impacted directly or indirectly by rape, sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. There are many ways to contact our office. You can choose to share as much, or as little, as is comfortable of your story. Anonymity is an option for many of our services, excluding academic support, appointment scheduling and Victim's Assistance Fund resources. You will not be forced into any actions or disclosures that are not comfortable for you.

The Sexual Assault Response and Prevention (SARPP) Advocate Office is located in the University Health Center, Room 2118D. The office is staffed by Advocates Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
