The Director of Compliance will report to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and assist in overseeing all processes, procedures and systems necessary for the department to comply with NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference rules and regulations for a premier NCAA Division I-FBS, Atlantic Coast Conference member institution which sponsors 20 varsity sports programs. The Director of Compliance will help coordinate NCAA rules education programs for administrators, coaches, support staff, student-athletes and booster groups; monitor recruitment activities of all sport programs including, but not limited to, official/unofficial visits, telephone logs, and contacts/evaluations; monitor playing and practice seasons; assist in the preparation of NCAA Squad Lists and eligibility certifications; assist with the NCAA initial-eligibility process; assist in the completion and submission of required NCAA reports, waivers and appeals; oversee NCAA compliance for the department's summer camps and clinics; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, post- graduate degree preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in NCAA compliance required, preferably at a Division 1 member institution, conference office or national office. Post-graduate degree preferred with a minimum of 1 year experience in NCAA compliance at a Division I member institution, conference office or national office. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure preferred. Knowledge of NCAA technological processes such as CA and LSDBi, previous experience with ACS. Proven ability to relate well to coaches, student-athletes, administrators and other compliance constituency groups, excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational abilities with attention to detail as well as proficiency in areas of recruiting, playing and practice seasons, and camps/clinics preferred.
