On Hafer: A versatile athlete who moves very well on the field … improved her conditioning during a tremendous offseason … showed great improvement on her skills from the spring and summer … should reap the benefits with her first playing time on the forward line ... represents the field hockey team on Maryland's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

As a freshman in 2000: A redshirt season.

Before Maryland: Three-year varsity letterwinner and two-year starter at Wilson … named to the all-star team at the Maryland camp prior to her senior season … earned three varsity letters as a member of the track team … earned all-county and all-division honors and was a state championships qualifier … earned academic honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Personal: Born July 11, 1982 … Beth is the daughter of Susan and Robert Hafer … involved in student council, ski club, peer mediation, French club and the homecoming committee at Wilson … a letters and sciences major.

Favorite books: The Street Lawyer by John Grisham and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Who is your hero/role model? My hero and role model is my mom because she is a very strong and determined person who has inspired me to work hard at everything I do.
What is your greatest athletic accomplishment? Having the opportunity to participate on the nationally ranked Maryland hockey team.
