The Senior Director of Marketing will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics marketing staff, and be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Sponsor Services. The Senior Director of Marketing will oversee marketing plan development and implementation, ticket sales, sponsor activation and game presentation for the Women's Basketball program with a key focus on maximizing ticket revenue, increasing fan attendance and enhancing the Maryland Athletics brand. Additional responsibilities include: assist with game day operations, fan development and revenue generation initiatives for Football, Men's Basketball and various Olympic Sports; oversee the event planning and production of our football fan fest; engage the student body to enhance school spirit and develop an official student fan group for the athletic department; conduct fan surveys and analyze data on consumer satisfaction, preferences and buying habits to identify potential markets and factor affecting product demand; research national best practices to enhance the game day experience at all athletic events; work with the ticket office and facilities and operations to implement a comprehensive fan relations and customer service campaign; assist with various other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Sponsor Services.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required in sports management, marketing, advertising or other related field. Minimum of four (4) years of sports marketing experience required. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Photoshop and PACmail required. Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of sports marketing experience preferably at the NCAA Division I or professional sports level.
